Dominic Smith - Places - Salamanca

salamanca

In July 2001, I returned to Spain for more Spanish tuition, mainly paid for by my College. This time, for a change, I went to the University city of Salamanca - very much Spain's equivalent of Cambridge. I studied in the Academia Mester and, again, the teaching was excellent and many cultural activities (slightly better organised than in Seville) were also made available. Basically, however, there is little to choose between the schools but, of course, the Spanish of Salamanca is more 'standard' than the Andalusian variety, spoken in Seville.
