This coming weekend (18/19th October) the Dartmoor Radio Club are operating a special event station on behalf of West Devon Scouts for the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA). Look for GB2WDS on HF bands, around the World Radio Scout frequencies. We would be glad to contact anyone, especially other JOTA special event stations, and would appreciate you taking time to receive 'greetings messages' from the Scouts. Unfortunately, we will be unable to start until about 12:00 UTC on Saturday due to another event in the hall, but will then be on-air until Sunday afternoon. We are expecting potentially well over 100 Scouts to come so it should be quite fun. I understand that the local media have also been invited. We will be operating from Lamerton village hall (Map: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=lamerton&countryCode=GB ). Please note that there is no internet access at this location, and so we will not be able to participate in JOTI. 73 es JSW :)
